learning japanese!!

11.26.25

soooo i will be soon quitting duolingo for many reasons ( mainly due to the company doing some reaaal problematic stuff with AI but bad stuff is NOT what i will be talking about today , as i have found a really cool website that hopefully will help me and many others with learning japanese !!! Learn Japanese - Tae Kim's Guide to Learning Japanese it seems to be 100% free and looks to have quite a backlog of lessons !!! i have decided i would use this website for as long as possible and learn japanese with it and every once in a while log my process here :3

another thing im planning on doing is adding some of my own info here :0 i know a tiny bit of japanese beforehand ( mostly because of project sekai and vocal synth stuff asdfjhasfkjlh BUT STILLLLL ) and there are some VERY USEFUL tables and charts and just overall important things that i would like to refer back to when i look back at this log , and alsoooooo for whoever would actually want to read this idk ( THIS IS MOSTLY JUST FOR MYSELF TBH. IF ANYONE ELSE ACTUALLY LOOKS AT THIS SPECIFIC PAGE ON MY NEOCITIES I WILL BE GRATEFUL BUT NOTE IT WILL NOT BE USER FRIENDLY FOR MOST PEOPLE BESIDES MYSELF LOL SORRYYYYY )

i have not started reading yet because it is. 10:53 pm at the time of writing this. and uh. im tired BUTTTT IM HOPING I CAN MAKE A HIRAGANA AND KATAKANA TABLE HERE BEFORE THE MONTH ENDS THATS MY MAIN GOAL. thats my main goal and if i do not make it then . welp :D

hellooooo its mel again ( it is 10:14 pm as of STARTING writing this . im sensing a pattern ) so hiragana is one of the three japanese writing forms , i do know a bit of hiragana beforehand but i really really need to review and memorize them . the other two are katakana and kanji and i will get around to making references for them too . since japanese is like chinese in the way that there is. a LOT of kanji hheheheeh and its . really REALLY hard to memorize EVERYTHING of course , but i will get there :)

katakana !!!!!!! one thing ive noticed is how simple katakana is compared to hiragana , and its because its used to import words from other languages ! thats presumably why its used for words such as スマホ ( sumaho = smartphone ) . thats really neat :0

another thing ive noticed is because everything is much simpler , a lot of the characters are simpler but also hard to tell apart due to all the . you know . simple-ness . theres a lot of smiley faces :) ツ (tsu) シ (shi) so joyous and whimsical :] ( pretty sure theres one of these smileys on rhythm heaven / rhythm tengoku :0 )
